Celebrate the Four Days of Martha

Many (a couple) of you have requested a schedule of the Four Days of Martha (chosen so that only Emmy has the week of). The Four Days of Martha celebrates the 80th birthday of this wonderful example in all of our lives. We hope all who cannot join us in person do some "shout outs" during the next four days.

The festivities begin with the arrival of C.M., Sara, and Spencer on Friday evening. We will have a delicious Sweet Mama Squash soup and pannini supper and then work on "secret stuff" to be prepared for the family celebration on Saturday evening.

There was a fabulous response for the Birthday dinner with relatives arriving from Alaska, Washington, Billings, Missoula, Jackson, Belgrade and Helena. Martha's four children will host a dinner party for 30 to 35 nearest and dearest at UMW Western on Saturday evening. After drinks and goodies which include Aunt Tempie's famous cheese ball at the Davis home; the group will proceed to the Lewis & Clark Room for a festive feast featuring honey pecan chicken breasts. It should be a rocking three generation party with the Tolton's, McHugh's, Forresters, Johnson's, Warren's, Brown's, and Cinda has some of the special guests.

Sunday morning will feature a brunch at the Briggs' home for all the departing travelers. Many wonderful eats & treats are on the menu and it will be more time for reflection and laughter. Think the newer tradition of the Christmas brunch enjoyed the last few years with all the Montana Blacktail sunshine streaming through the windows. (Which may be dirty unless we can fit window washing into the schedule!) Is there anything better than a Cousin Brunch?

Martha's daughters, Susan and Alice, are hosting a Birthday Cupcake Tea on Monday afternoon for about 50 lovely and interesting Dillon friends. It will be a wonderful eclectic group of friends who treasure Martha. Some many have called thrilled to be invited and of course NO ONE can believe Martha is 80. Three different cupcake recipes have been prepared with the cakes in the freezer waiting for frosting on Monday morning.

We will especially miss Bob, Ben, Dan, Anne, Mark, Lisa, Rob, Emma, Cody, Loren, Kalin, Carter, Jamison, Molly and Emmalee but know that you are with us in spirit and in our hearts.
