Cowgirl Mermaid

While Emmy was here I suggested we go on a "Turtle Trot." Every year there is a Turtle Trot on Tybee Island (it is a 5K run- so needless to say this is not the Turtle Trot I was referring to). Basically, there are all these great turtle statues all over the island and my plan was to find them all (or as many as possible) and take pics by them- just think of the great scrapbook page.

This was not my best idea ever. Some of the turtles have been removed because of vandals and idiots- or just moved. Some are difficult to find and the map is not updated. Cody was tired and GRUMPY, two of the kiddos were bickering, with two others vociferously taking sides. So the activity was not great fun- but we did get great pictures. The pictures turned out because I was threatening no swimming pool, no PS3 and other dire consequences. We will have great scrapbook pages though- and hopefully, by the end of the year no one will remember how miserable everyone was between turtles.

This one is incredibly appropriate for us- because this is the rodeo queen statue. Please note our rodeo (which involves porpoise wrestling, wild turtle riding, and Lion Fish Roping) queen is a mermaid- and a lovely thing she is too.
