Ok, so I was just going to tell Loren and Kalin about this- but decided Mom would appreciate the milage she could get out of the story the most- and decided to share with all.
Last night we were driving home kind of late and the moon was out. Mark had Emma & Cody with them and they sang "I see the Moon" several times and then Emma asked for explaination. So Mark told her that no matter where people are we are all looking at the same moon & "long to see" means who we wish we could see so the moon we are looking at can see the people we wish we were with, etc.
Then Cody insisted on singing the song again and after they sang it Emma sighed and quietly said "Goodnight Carter."
When are we going to get these two together? The clearly need some cousin time.

That is so sweet - i have the most wonderful grandchildren. It is hard to all be so far apart. i do think this blog is a wonderful way to keep us all in closer touch. Daddy and I just took a beautiful ride home from the Horse Praire enjoying the moon and thinking of each of you. Good Night Moon - Good Night all.
Forever & ever. Mom
i don't know anne, i think i might get the most mileage out of that story. i have already told three different people. so it's true... i am just like mom! i wish my bi-coastal nieces and nephews could get together more often. i am so grateful for my close friendshipss with my cousins. i was just talking to brendan last night about the blog. he called today to tell me he checked it out and tried to leave a comment. he is a great buddy pal. i know that emma and carter would be great buddy pals...maybe someday soon.
this story is SO precious!
Somewhere out there beneath the pale moonlight
Someone's thinking of me and loving me tonight
Somewhere out there someone's saying a prayer
That we'll find one another in that big somewhere out there
And even though I know how very far apart we are
It helps to think we might be wishing on the same bright star (or moon)
And when the night wind starts to sing a lonesome lullaby
It helps to think we're sleeping underneath the same big sky
Carter loved the story. One of the best moments of the summer was watching Carter have his serious conversation with Emmy while you guys were in Dillon. Hopefully we will be able to catch up with you guys next summer. From Loren
