Been a busy week of projects, chores and UMW budget reports due to the Commissioner's Office. Many of these projects give opportunity for musing time. As a mom with children and grandchildren scattered far and wide, most of my thoughts always turn to them. We are so proud of our family - everyone is a productive member of society and just darn generous and nice. Most importantly, all are very tolerant people - that was one of my most important wishes for them. Please work on passing this trait to the kids and those who touch your lives.
Dad and I have lined out a set of big projects for the moth of August including an "eating healthier" project. (see Loren's good suggestion). Friday night he had his sleep apnea test and yes he does stop breathing for over a minute several times each night. Will see the Dr. in about 10 days. Saturday we started taking down our Fuller nests, changing beds, put away the Davis tent trailer, picked up a trailer and scaffolding from Doug for house painting, put the backhoe back on the tractor, and started digging water lines in Taylor's garage. This is a good project as Lane will trade by doing the highest parts of the painting on our house. I've been worrying about Dad getting up there. Sunday was more of the same - took all the books out of the upstairs bookshelves to move things, moved the old library table with computer into the "loft" part of the upstairs and moved Lisa's nest into the bedroom for an extra permanent sleeping space, cooked and took dinner for Taylor's (Wendy had surgery on her kidney stones in Missoula on Friday), spent several hours at work on the budget, Dad dug trench most of the afternoon, and watered all horses and trees. Dad and Lane finished the trenches on Monday evening about 9:30 - a good project to have completed. I sent in the budget tonight so were ready to move on.
Gradpa is coming Thursday (don't forget its his birthday)to figure out how to get the shop ready to sell. It is a huge huge project and of course the boys are all stirred up on how in the world to help. It really has to be John and Grandpa who decide how to finish up the business and decide who gets what and what gets tossed. Everyone else will pitch in to help clean up but keep reminding Dad who is feeling very responsible, that he has never been part of a business that used the shop and he can only provide physical labor help - he doesn't have to figure this out - the mess is Harold, Hugh and Johns and has been accumulating for over 27 years. At least it will all be done and settled which will make things easier in the long run.
Other thoughts:
Thinking about Anne and kids with Mark in San Diego. Hope he is having a productive meeting and that Anne is having an easy week. Will be glad to hear what the Dr. says.
Thinking about Lisa soon to start on new braces and middle school and sending positive thoughts.
Wondering if the Fuller kids are going to respond to Grandma's emails. Stay in touch cuz i'm really missing you.
Thinking about my crazy dad who is going in for a colonoscopy tomorrow at 84 because that is what you do when you had colon cancer 30 years ago. I don't even want to go back for my 10 year one!
Hoping Kalin is feeling well and wondering about Jamison's ear. Is training going well and how are Auntie and Carter doing "on the loose in LA".
Wondering who would like to help sponsor notebooks for Emmy & Loren's classes - they are working so hard creating a wonderful curriculum for the students.
Worrying and wondering abot the economy - Bill Forrester things we are the brink of disaster - there will be no money to get to keep it moving. Would like to hear other's thoughts on this. yes - and of course forest fires and global warming. Anne hope there aren't hurricanes also!
Thinking about Tempie who will be having open heart surgery soon. Know she is nervous although the Dr. says is routine. And my Uncle John whose lung cancer has moved to the brain. So lucky we have these great people and positive examples in our lives.
Worring about Aunt Emmy who has had to choose between a reduced assignment or going back to previous job. sometimes the workplace really sucks.
thinking about how beautiful the meteor shower was the other night - the skies cleared for a few hours and the milky way and stars were vivid from the deck. we do live in such a beautiful interesting complex world.
rethinking the budget and reports in my mind hoping it is all right - thinking about the fun of beginning a new semester next week - i love it when the students come back
thinking about Steve, Spencer, Ben and Bob who saw "Wicked" in London this weekend, i love "Wicked" and are on their way to Petersburg, Russia -- PUDDING!
yes and 100 other thoughts are always racing through my menopausal brain - but alway first and foremost how much i love each of you.

O.K. - so i thought i had found a clever literary way to give the news as "rambling thoughts" - i thought i might be in the running for a pulitzer -- instead it appears everyone thinks i'm crazy and worry too much. Not true all is well. so much for my literary endeavors. took grandpa out for birthday dinner at Sparky's - he seems good. love mom
I have just sent mom's post rambling thoughts off to an agent I coach soccer with and he thinks as soon as she finishes feeding the horses, painting the house, saving Western, attending her PEO meetings, gets back from regents in Miles City, cooks dinner, does a half hour on the bike, calls all her kids to make sure they are O.K., closes the Lake place, drops her girl scout troop off at the pool for swimming lessons, she has a definite future as a writer. Take a nap. From now on I am going to title all my posts LAZY whatever until I get a post from mom that says I sat on my couch all weekend, read a book, watched a Miami Ink marathon and rested my knee. This is exactly why we need this family blog however, mom just informed me in one post more about what was happening with our family then I would have learned from a million phone conversations.
