Lovely Evening

This has been a week of high family drama and really no way to make everyone happy. It is always things like selling a possession that has been important in the life of a family member that causes concern and sadness. Grandpa has been so confused and sad about it all trying to know what he should do. The current status is that step one will be the clean-up and there will be an auction of the stuff in the shop. Loren - they'll miss your expertise in shop clean-up.
This, however, is not the subject of the post.


Uncle Jack and Aunt Allowee came to town yesterday enjoying a respite from the smoke. This helped and we had fun playing Five Crowns and Poker Pinochole. Tonight we took all the olders (Hugh, Jack, Allowee, Carl, & Martha) to Papa T's for dinner. We are so lucky to have the influence of these good people in our lives. Uncle Jack and Aunt Allowee have always been the most positive example one could ever have. They are just flat amazing and we love them so. I wish i would have had a tape recorder. They started talking about times in the Cenntenial Valley and we were all rolling on the floor. They were all sharing "ole Ed and Joe Roe" stories that should be in a book and these included a story about when Dad (Carl) shut down the "houses" in Dillon. This led to another batch of unbelievable stories and to think it was 1963. Was so nice to be relaxed and laughing with this crew. We came back up to our hill and played cards. Bob is always so funny when playing games with Aunt Allowee - they just laughed and laughed with each other. Grandpa Hugh was the big winner at cards tonight which was such a great diversion for him. All and all a lovely evening at the end of a hard week.
